Deity of Christ

Please note and understand this, that the entire Bible is FOR YOU; But It’s not all about You.
The entire Bible is based on one nation and one race of people because of covenant promises to that race of people God chose to make covenant promises with and those promises will be satisfied to completion of which all have not been as of this day May 18, 2020 but will be in the future.
Those covenant promises have been set aside/postponed until the fullness of the Gentiles come in, since the Stoning of Stephen, but will be reinitiated with the removal of The Believers of the Body of Christ which was kept secret by God since before the beginning of the world but revealed to the called out anointed Apostle Paul after the stoning of Stephen, as the Revelation of the Mysteries’ given to him  to bring in the Gentiles of the world by the Grace of God a free Gift of Salvation by Faith of all that is unsaved in the world just by believing in The Gospel Of Grace which is the Finished work of Christ of the Cross in His death, burial and  Him resurrected the third day. Therefore, Only the Believers of the Finished Work Of the Crucified Christ that have been Baptized into His Body will He come and take away at His calling from the clouds in the air of all that have and do Believe sealed by The Spirit of The Father then the last 7 years of the covenant promises can and will be completed after that act of The Head of the Body of Christ is fulfilled.
Mat 8:28  And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way.
Matthew Chapter 8 synopsis
Contents: Jesus heals a leper, the centurion’s servant and Peter’s wife’s mother. Professed disciples tested. Stilling of the waves. Casting-out demons at Gadara.
Characters: Jesus, leper, centurion and his servant, Peter’s mother-in-law, two men of Gadara, disciples.
Conclusion: Jesus is the divine Son of God, sovereign over all physical ailments, over all circumstances, over the powers of nature, over the evil emissaries of Satan and over sin (Mat_9:5). Faith takes Him at His word and finds rest and deliverance at all times in His Word of power.
Key Word: Sovereign Christ, Mat_8:17, Mat_8:27.
Strong Verses: Mat_8:13, Mat_8:27.
Striking Facts: Mat_8:29. Men may deny the deity of Christ, but demons know better. His divine Sonship is proven amply by the demonstration of His power in all spheres. He was not only Son of God, but Son of Man (Mat_8:20, Mat_8:24) and having been subjected to all human testings, He became a perfect sacrifice and substitute for the believer on the Cross.

Mar 5:1  And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
Mar 5:2  And when he was come out of the ship, immediately there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit
man. Greek. anthropos. App-123. In the earlier miracle there were "two men "(Mat_8:28).
Gadarenes. In the earlier miracle it was Gergesenes (Mat_8:28).
Mark Chapter 5 synopsis
Contents: The maniac of Gadara. Woman with issue of blood healed. Daughter of Jairus raised from the dead.
Characters: Jesus, disciples, demoniac, sick woman, Jairus, his daughter.
Conclusion: The power of Christ over evil spirits, over incurable physical ailments, and over death itself, demonstrates to a conclusion His deity and puts honor upon the simple faith that comes to Him. Those who by faith are healed of Him, may go in peace and should go to witness of His power and grace.
Key Word: Powerful Christ, Mar_5:19, Mar_5:29, Mar_5:42.
Strong Verses: Mar_5:19, Mar_5:34, Mar_5:36.
Striking Facts: Mar_5:7. Even devils believe in the deity of Christ and tremble before Him. Demons know that by His Word they will ultimately be sent to chains of eternal darkness.

Luk 8:26  And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
Luk 8:27  And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
He had worn no clothes (ouk enedusato himation). First aorist middle indicative, constative aorist, viewing the “long time” as a point. Not pluperfect as English has it and not for the pluperfect, simply “and for a long time he did not put on himself (indirect middle) any clothing.” The physician would naturally note this item. Common verb enduō or endunō. This item in Luke alone, though implied by Mar_5:15 “clothed” (himatismenon).
And abode not in any house (kai en oikiāi ouk emenen). Imperfect active. Peculiar to Luke, though implied by the mention of tombs in all three (Mar_5:3; Mat_8:28; Luk_8:27).
Luke Chapter 8 Synopsis
Contents: Jesus preaching and healing in Galilee. Parable of the sower, the lighted candle. Stilling of the waves. Demons cast out of man of Gadara. Healing of a woman. Raising of Jairus’ daughter.
Characters: God, Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Susanna, Jesus’ mother and brothers, disciples, the Gadarene, Jairus, woman with issue of blood, Peter, servant of Jairus, James, John, daughter of Jairus.
Conclusion: It is the comfort of God’s people that all power is given unto Jesus Christ, their Saviour. He has under His check and control, the elements of the universe, the prince of the power of the air with all his most malignant demons, all human diseases, even death itself, and exercises these powers as will best glorify God. He is rich in fact who is rich in faith in Christ, having received the good seed of His promises into their hearts.
Key Word: Preaching and showing, Luk_8:1. (See Luk_8:4, preaching; Luk_8:25, Luk_8:35, Luk_8:48, Luk_8:55, shewing.)
Strong Verses: Luk_8:11, Luk_8:17, Luk_8:18, Luk_8:21, Luk_8:39.
Striking Facts: Luk_8:28. Demon-possessed men never have expectation to receive benefit from Jesus Christ, nor inclination to do Him service, a fact which alone proves His deity. Demons know Him to be the Son of God who is ultimately to execute vengeance. They express only dread of Him.

Joh 1:1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God
Joh 1:2  The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
Joh 1:5  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
Joh 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth
(1Co 3:23 KJV)  And ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
And ye are Christ's - His property, his subjects. his members. And Christ is God's - As Mediator, he refers all his services to his Father's glory.
 (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)  1 Corinthians 3:23
ye are Christ’s — not Paul’s, or Apollos,’ or Cephas’ (1Co_11:3; Mat_23:8-10). “Neither be ye called masters; for one is your Master, even Christ” (Rom_14:8). Not merely a particular section of you, but ye all are Christ’s (1Co_1:12).
Christ is God’s — (1Co_11:3). God is the ultimate end of all, even of Christ, His co-equal Son (1Co_15:28; Php_2:6-11).

1Co 11:3  But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God
head of Christ is God — (1Co_3:23; 1Co_15:27, 1Co_15:28; Luk_3:22, Luk_3:38; Joh_14:28; Joh_20:17; Eph_3:9). “Jesus, therefore, must be of the same essence as God: for, since the man is the head of the woman, and since the head is of the same essence as the body, and God is the head of the Son, it follows the Son is of the same essence as the Father” [Chrysostom]. “The woman is of the essence of the man, and not made by the man; so, too, the Son is not made by the Father, but of the essence of the Father”
And the head of Christ is God - Christ, as Mediator, has consented to assume a subordinate rank, and to recognize God the Father as superior in office. Hence, he was obedient in all things as a Son; he submitted to the arrangement required in redemption; he always recognized his subordinate rank as Mediator, and always regarded God as the supreme Ruler, even in the matter of redemption. The sense is, that Christ, throughout his entire work, regarded himself as occupying a subordinate station to the Father; and that it was proper from his example to recognize the propriety of rank and station everywhere.
And the head of Christ is God; that is, the Father, not as to his divine nature, for in respect to that they are one: Christ, as God, is equal to his Father, and is possessed of the same divine perfections with him; nor is his Father the head of him, in that sense; but as to his human nature, which he formed, prepared, anointed, upheld, and glorified; and in which nature Christ exercised grace on him, he hoped in him, he believed and trusted in him, and loved him, and yielded obedience to him; he always did the things that pleased him in life; he prayed to him; he was obedient to him, even unto death, and committed his soul or spirit into his hands: and all this he did as to his superior, considered in the human nature, and also in his office capacity as Mediator, who as such was his servant; and whose service he diligently and faithfully performed, and had the character from him of a righteous one; so that God is the head of Christ, as he is man and Mediator, and as such only.
The Mystery of Godliness
1Ti 3:14  These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly:
1Ti 3:15  But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
1Ti 3:16  And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Act 3:1  Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. [The Jew’s had a specific time under the Law to Pray and they had to pray 3 times during the daylight hours]
But now the believer can go to the feet of God at any time day or night
For our learning and admonition from the book of Hebrews
Jesus the Great High Priest
Heb 4:14  Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
Heb 4:15  For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Heb 4:16  Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
*(1Ti 2:8 KJV)  I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
Mindful of things to pray
Php 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.
Php 4:5  Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
Php 4:6  Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Php 4:7  And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Php 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Php 4:9  Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

*(1Ti 2:8 KJV)  I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
 (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)  1 Timothy 2:8
I will — The active wish, or desire, is meant.
that men — rather as Greek, “that the men,” as distinguished from “the women,” to whom he has something different to say from what he said to the men (1Ti_2:9-12; 1Co_11:14, 1Co_11:15; 1Co_14:34, 1Co_14:35). The emphasis, however, is not on this, but on the precept of praying, resumed from 1Ti_2:1.
everywhere Greek, “in every place,” namely, of public prayer. Fulfilling Mal_1:11, In every place ... from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same ... incense shall be offered unto My name”; and Jesus’ words, Mat_18:20; Joh_4:21, Joh_4:23.
lifting up holy hands — The early Christians turned up their palms towards heaven, as those craving help do. So also Solomon (1Ki_8:22; Psa_141:2). The Jews washed their hands before prayer (Psa_26:6). Paul figuratively (compare Job_17:9; Jas_4:8) uses language alluding to this custom here: so Isa_1:15, Isa_1:16. The Greek for “holy” means hands which have committed no impiety, and observed every sacred duty. This (or at least the contrite desire to be so) is a needful qualification for effectual prayer (Psa_24:3, Psa_24:4).
without wrath putting it away (Mat_5:23, Mat_5:24; Mat_6:15).
doubting — rather, “disputing,” as the Greek is translated in Php_2:14. Such things hinder prayer (Luk_9:46; Rom_14:1; 1Pe_3:7). Bengel supports English Version (compare an instance, 2Ki_7:2; Mat_14:31; Mar_11:22-24; Jas_1:6).
 (Wuest's Word Studies)  1 Timothy 2:8
The word "therefore" is resumptive, picking up again the general topic of public worship from which Paul digressed in verses 3-7. The words "I will" are boulomai, speaking of a desire which proceeds from the reason, as against thelō, a desire which originates with the emotions. The word "men" is preceded by the definite article in the Greek text. Paul means that the men, as opposed to the women, should conduct public worship (Expositors). The word "everywhere" is en panti tropōi, more correctly, "in every place," that is, wherever Christian congregations assemble, not in every place indiscriminately.
The word "holy" is not in this instance hagios, holy in the sense of being set apart for God, but hosios, which is grouped with Dikaios (righteous) for purposes of discrimination. The holiness here is not that of position but of experience, of life. As to the lifting up of the hands, the following can be stated: Vincent says that among the orientals, the lifting up of the hands accompanied the taking of an oath, blessing, and prayer. The custom passed over into the primitive church, as may be seen from the mural paintings in the catacombs. Expositors suggests that "this is not directly intended to enjoin a particular gesture appropriate to prayer, but merely avoids the repetition of proseuchomai (pray)."
The words, "without wrath or doubting," indicate the two conditions necessary to effectual prayer, freedom from irritation towards our fellowmen, and confidence toward God. The word "doubting" (dialogismos) means "disputatious reasoning, skeptical questions or criticisms." Prayer, Vincent says, "is to be without the element of skeptical criticism, whether of God’s character and dealings, or of the character and behavior of those for whom prayer is offered."
Translation: I desire, therefore, that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands without anger or skeptical criticism

1Ti 2:9  In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness [shy and reserved toward men other than her husband but an attitude toward God was that of awe.] and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
Gal 3:26  For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:27  For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28  There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus

1Pe 3:1  Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
1Pe 3:2  While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. (respect)
1Pe 3:3  Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;
1Pe 3:4  But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
 Gen 12:11  And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:

Gal 3:29  And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. [Eph 1:11]
Spiritual Blessings in Christ
Eph 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ
Eph 1:4  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5  Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6  To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Eph 1:7  In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Eph 1:8  Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Eph 1:9  Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Eph 1:10  That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Eph 1:12  That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13  In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14  Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, [Rapture / catching away / taken out of the way by Christ Himself.] unto the praise of his glory

1Ti 2:10  But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

Some Will Depart from the Faith
1Ti 4:1  Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
1Ti 4:2  Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1Ti 4:3  Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4  For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5  For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

1Ti 4:9  This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation
1Ti 4:10  For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
1Ti 4:11  These things command and teach.
1Ti 4:12  Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
hem that are widows indeed.
1Ti 5:17  Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
1Ti 5:18  For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.
1Ti 5:19  Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses.
1Ti 5:20  Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.
1Ti 5:21  I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.
1Ti 5:22  Lay hands suddenly on no man, neither be partaker of other men's sins: keep thyself pure.
1Ti 5:23  Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
1Ti 5:24  Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some men they follow after.
“Neither be partaker of other men’s sins,” by ordaining ungodly men; having then by a digression at the clause, “keep thyself pure,” guarded against an ascetical error of Timothy in fancying purity consisted in asceticism, and having exhorted him to use wine for strengthening him in his work, he returns to the subject of his being vigorous as an overseer in rebuking sin, whether in presbyters or people, and in avoiding participation in men’s sins by ordaining ungodly candidates.

2Co 11:13  For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
2Co 11:14  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
2Co 11:15  Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers [Preachers and teachers in the denomination ranks today] also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

1Ti 5:25  Likewise also the good works of some are manifest beforehand; and they that are otherwise cannot be hid. [Their end will be in doom]

1Ti 4:1  Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
 (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)  1 Timothy 4:1
1Ti_4:1-16. Prediction of a coming departure from the faith: Timothy’s duty as to it: General directions to him.
The “mystery of iniquity” here alluded to, and already working (2Th_2:7), stands opposed to the “mystery of godliness” just mentioned (1Ti_3:16).
Now Greek, “But.” In contrast to the “mystery of godliness.”
the Spirit — speaking by the prophets in the Church (whose prophecies rested on those of the Old Testament, Dan_7:25; Dan_8:23, etc.; Dan_11:30, as also on those of Jesus in the New Testament, Mat_24:11-24), and also by Paul himself, 2Th_2:3 (with whom accord 2Pe_3:3; 1Jn_2:18; Jud_1:18).
expressly — “in plain words.” This shows that he refers to prophecies of the Spirit then lying before him.
in the latter times — in the times following upon the times in which he is now writing. Not some remote future, but times immediately subsequent, the beginnings of the apostasy being already discernible (Act_20:29): these are the forerunners of “the last days” (2Ti_3:1).
depart from the faith — The apostasy was to be within the Church, the faithful one becoming the harlot. In 2Th_2:3 (written earlier), the apostasy of the Jews from God (joining the heathen against Christianity) is the groundwork on which the prophecy rises; whereas here, in the Pastoral Epistles, the prophecy is connected with Gnostic errors, the seeds of which had already been sown in the Church [Auberlen] (2Ti_2:18). Apollonius Tyanaeus, a heretic, came to Ephesus in the lifetime of Timothy.
giving heed — (1Ti_1:4; Tit_1:14).
seducing spirits — working in the heretical teachers. 1Jn_4:2, 1Jn_4:3, 1Jn_4:6, “the spirit of error,” opposed to “the spirit of truth,” “the Spirit” which “speaketh” in the true prophets against them.
doctrines of devils — literally “teachings of (that is suggested by) demons.” Jas_3:15, “wisdom ... devilish”; 2Co_11:15, “Satan’s ministers.”

1Ti 4:2  Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
 (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)  1 Timothy 4:2
Rather translate, “Through (literally, ‘in’; the element in which the apostasy has place) the hypocrisy of lying speakers”; this expresses the means through which “some shall (be led to) depart from the faith,” namely, the reigned sanctity of the seducers (compare “deceivers,” Tit_1:10).
having their conscience seared Greek, “having their own conscience,” etc., that is, not only “speaking lies” to others, but also having their own conscience seared. Professing to lead others to holiness, their own conscience is all the while defiled. Bad consciences always have recourse to hypocrisy. As faith and a good conscience are joined (1Ti_1:5); so hypocrisy (that is, unbelief, Mat_24:5, Mat_24:51; compare Luk_12:46) and a bad conscience here. Theodoret explains like English Version, “seared,” as implying their extreme insensibility; the effect of cauterizing being to deaden sensation. The Greek, however, primarily means “branded” with the consciousness of crimes committed against their better knowledge and conscience, like so many scars burnt in by a branding iron: Compare Tit_1:15; Tit_3:11, “condemned of himself.” They are conscious of the brand within, and yet with a hypocritical show of sanctity, they strive to seduce others. As “a seal” is used in a good sense (2Ti_2:19), so “a brand” in a bad sense. The image is taken from the branding of criminals.

Mat 7:13  Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Joh 6:44  No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
Joh 6:65  And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father.
Mat 7:14  Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. [Only by and through Christ Jesus according to the Evolved Dispensation that God established in that dispensation at this time, and has been in place since the calling out of Paul to preach and teach it, is The Dispensation of the Grace Gospel of Christ Jesus through The Gospel given to Paul to us.]
(Eph 3:2 KJV)  If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
Dispensation (οἰκονομίαν)
See on Eph_1:10; see on Col_1:25. The divine arrangement or disposition.
 (E. W. Bullinger)  Ephesians 3:2
dispensation = stewardship. Greek. oikonomia. See Eph_1:10.
the = that.
is = was.
to . . . -ward. Greek. eis. App-104. The grace of God which concerned them and us. Not the grace of God as to "the kingdom", or "the heavenly calling" (see App-193), but the gospel of God’s grace as to the church which is the body of Christ.

Mat 7:21  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 7:22  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
Mat 7:23  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Conclusion of 1st Tim 4: Those are good ministers of Jesus Christ who are diligent to instil into the minds of their hearers the fundamental truths of God’s Word, which will prevent their being seduced by false teachers and drawn away into the apostasy of the last days. Let them not study to advance new notions, but ever be faithful in proclaiming those saving truths which they have received of the apostles and Jesus Christ.
Key Word: Good minister, 1Ti_4:6.
Strong Verses: 1Ti_4:1, 1Ti_4:8, 1Ti_4:12.
Striking Facts: 1Ti_4:1-3. Satan is a theologian and makes use of demons in the last days to lead many away into apostasy. Spiritualism clearly presented here. Two prominent points of its doctrine are seen in 1Ti_4:3. Abstinence from meat is considered a condition of mediumistic power. Spiritual affinities are taught as against marriage.
Conclusion of Mathew 7: True disciples of Christ will be men and women cautious in their judgment of others; conscious of their own faults; confident and earnest in prayer; wary of false teachers and hypocritical profession; building all eternal hopes upon the firm Rock, faith in the Word of God and Christ Jesus.
Key Word: Sermon on the Mount, Mat_5:2. (Two ways, Mat_7:13, Mat_7:24, Mat_7:26.)
Strong Verses: Mat_7:1, Mat_7:2, Mat_7:7, Mat_7:8, Mat_7:12, Mat_7:15, Mat_7:21, Mat_7:24.
Striking Facts: Mat_7:22 shows that there will be among those rejected by Christ in the last days, many preachers, so-called soul winners and good moral men, simply because devoid of true faith in Christ who alone is the foundation of salvation. Beware of mere lip-devotion which signifies nothing, either here or hereafter.
Those that are in the Body of Christ that He is coming to get before the antichrist is loosed on the earth is only one tenth of one percent of the human race for they are the ones that have studied the scriptures that Paul wrote from the knowledge and wisdom that the Risen Christ revealed to him when he was called out on the road to Damascus then going to Arabia for three years to be taught by Christ and the Holy Spirit The Mysteries’ Christ revealed and gave to him to give to the Gentile world and to those people that in like manner as Lydia was saved all of Paul’s listeners were also saved
(Act 16:14 KJV)  And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
 (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)  Acts 16:14-15
Lydia — a common name among the Greeks and Romans.
a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira — on the confines of Lydia and Phrygia. The Lydians, particularly the inhabitants of Thyatira, were celebrated for their dyeing, in which they inherited the reputation of the Tyrians. Inscriptions to this effect, yet remaining, confirm the accuracy of our historian. This woman appears to have been in good circumstances, having an establishment at Philippi large enough to accommodate the missionary party (Act_16:15), and receiving her goods from her native town.
which worshipped God — that is, was a proselyte to the Jewish faith, and as such present at this meeting.
whose heart the Lord opened — that is, the Lord Jesus (see Act_16:15; and compare Luk_24:45; Mat_11:27).
that she attended to the things ... spoken by Paul — “showing that the inclination of the heart towards the truth originates not in the will of man. The first disposition to turn to the Gospel is a work of grace”. Observe here the place assigned to “giving attention” or “heed” to the truth - that species of attention which consists in having the whole mind engrossed with it, and in apprehending and drinking it in, in its vital and saving character. :listening in this maner is what Jesus in His on ministry ment when He said come and drink……
Joh 4:10  Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, [was kept secret] and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
(Joh 7:37 KJV)  In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst [Knows that he is a lost soul], let him come unto me, and drink. [In the Believing that HE is who He says He is, the Resurrection and the life, which is The Gospel Of GRACE already given from the Cross and His ascension into heaven is our guarantee that we, the Believer are His forever as our Head of The Body of Christ in the believing of That Gospel of Grace that Paul Preaches [Coming to Christ by hearing the Gospel of GRACE then believing it as Lydia did, and then upon BELIEVING in it, we are BAPTIZED INTO THE BODY OF CHRIST THAT INSTANTE WE BELIEVE and then the FATHER seals us with the HOLY SPIRIT as The EARNEST gift forever with us in the BODY.]
 (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)  John 7:37-39
the last day, that great day of the feast — the eighth (Lev_23:39). It was a sabbath, the last feast day of the year, and distinguished by very remarkable ceremonies. “The generally joyous character of this feast broke out on this day into loud jubilation, particularly at the solemn moment when the priest, as was done on every day of this festival, brought forth, in golden vessels, water from the stream of Siloah, which flowed under the temple-mountain, and solemnly poured it upon the altar. Then the words of Isa_12:3 were sung, With joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of Salvation, and thus the symbolical reference of this act, intimated in Joh_7:39, was expressed” [Olshausen]. So ecstatic was the joy with which this ceremony was performed - accompanied with sound of trumpets - that it used to be said, “Whoever had not witnessed it had never seen rejoicing at all” [Lightfoot].
Jesus stood — On this high occasion, then, He who had already drawn all eyes upon Him by His supernatural power and unrivalled teaching - “JESUS stood,” probably in some elevated position.
and cried — as if making proclamation in the audience of all the people.
If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink! — What an offer! The deepest cravings of the human spirit are here, as in the Old Testament, expressed by the figure of “thirst,” and the eternal satisfaction of them by “drinking.” To the woman of Samaria He had said almost the same thing, and in the same terms (Joh_4:13, Joh_4:14). But what to her was simply affirmed to her as a fact, is here turned into a world-wide proclamation; and whereas there, the gift by Him of the living water is the most prominent idea - in contrast with her hesitation to give Him the perishable water of Jacob’s well - here, the prominence is given to Himself as the Well spring of all satisfaction. He had in Galilee invited all the WEARY AND HEAVY-LADEN of the human family to come under His wing and they should find REST (Mat_11:28), which is just the same deep want, and the same profound relief of it, under another and equally grateful figure. He had in the synagogue of Capernaum (Joh_6:36) announced Himself, in every variety of form, as “the BREAD of Life,” and as both able and authorized to appease the “HUNGER,” and quench the “THIRST,” of all that apply to Him. There is, and there can be, nothing beyond that here. But what was on all those occasions uttered in private, or addressed to a provincial audience, is here sounded forth in the streets of the great religious metropolis, and in language of surpassing majesty, simplicity, and grace. It is just Jehovah’s ancient proclamation now sounding forth through human flesh, “HO, EVERY ONE THAT THIRSTETH, COME YE TO THE WATERS, AND HE THAT HATH NO MONEY!” etc. (Isa_55:1). In this light we have but two alternatives; either to say with Caiaphas of Him that uttered such words, He is guilty of death,” or falling down before Him to exclaim with Thomas, “MY LORD AND MY GOD!”

(Joh 7:38 KJV)  He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
 (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)  John 7:38
as the scripture hath said — These words belong to what follows, “Out of his belly, as the scripture hath said, shall flow,” etc. referring not to any particular passage, but to such as Isa_58:11; Joe_3:18; Zec_14:8; Eze_47:1-12; in most of which the idea is that of waters issuing from beneath the temple, to which our Lord compares Himself and those who believe in Him.
out of his belly — that is, his inner man, his soul, as in Pro_20:27.
rivers of living water — (See on Joh_4:13). It refers primarily to the copiousness, but indirectly also to the diffusiveness, of this living water to the good of others.

(Joh 7:39 KJV)  (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
 (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)  John 7:39
this spake he of the Spirit — who, by His direct personal agency, opens up this spring of living waters in the human spirit (Joh_3:6), and by His indwelling in the renewed soul ensures their unfailing flow.
they that believe, etc. — As the Holy Ghost is, in the redemption of man, entirely at the service of Christ, as His Agent, so it is only in believing connection with Christ that any one “receives” the Spirit.
for the Holy Ghost was not yet given - Beyond all doubt the word “given,” or some similar word, is the right supplement. In Joh_16:7 the Holy Ghost is represented not only as the gift of Christ, but a gift the communication of which was dependent upon His own departure to the Father. Now as Christ was not yet gone, so the Holy Ghost was not yet given.
Jesus not yet glorified — The word “glorified” is here used advisedly, to teach the reader not only that the departure of Christ to the Father was indispensable to the giving of the Spirit, but that this illustrious Gift, direct from the hands of the ascended Savior, was God’s intimation to the world that He whom it had cast out, crucified, and slain, was “His Elect, in whom His soul delighted,” and that it was through the smiting of that Rock that the waters of the Spirit - for which the Church was waiting, and with pomp at the feast of tabernacles proclaiming its expectation - had gushed forth upon a thirsty world. This church was that of THE BODY OF CHRIST WHERE CHRIST JESUS IS THE HEAD OF IT, not king but HEAD.

(Joh 6:53 KJV)  Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you.
Joh 1:4  In him was life; and the life was the light of men
Joh 1:5  And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Joh 1:9  That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
Joh 1:10  He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Joh 1:11  He came unto his own, [To the Jew’s Jesus was sent to fulfill the Covenant promises of the Patriarchs’ with God never to be Broken.] and his own received him not.
Joh 1:12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: [That was and is the premises of the Jew’s Gospel that Jesus Preached and it included the Law of Moses. The Kingdom Gospel had nothing to do with the free Gift of the Grace of God but that only of believing and accepting that Jesus was the sent MESSIAH, The SON of GOD TO BE THEIR KING and rule from the Throng of David in His reestablished Kingdom eliminating all Israelis enemies.]
Joh 1:13  Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Joh 1:14  And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Rom 8:9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
 (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)  John 6:53-58
Except ye eat the flesh ... and drink the blood ... no life, etc. — The harshest word He had yet uttered in their ears. They asked how it was possible to eat His flesh. He answers, with great solemnity, “It is indispensable.” Yet even here a thoughtful hearer might find something to temper the harshness. He says they must not only “eat His flesh” but “drink His blood,” which could not but suggest the idea of His death - implied in the separation of one’s flesh from his blood. And as He had already hinted that it was to be something very different from a natural death, saying, “My flesh I will give for the life of the world” (Joh_6:51), it must have been pretty plain to candid hearers that He meant something above the gross idea which the bare terms expressed. And farther, when He added that they “had no life in them unless they thus ate and drank,” it was impossible they should think He meant that the temporal life they were then living was dependent on their eating and drinking, in this gross sense, His flesh and blood. Yet the whole statement was certainly confounding, and beyond doubt was meant to be so. Our Lord had told them that in spite of all they had “seen” in Him, they “did not believe” (Joh_6:36). For their conviction therefore he does not here lay Himself out; but having the ear not only of them but of the more candid and thoughtful in the crowded synagogue, and the miracle of the loaves having led up to the most exalted of all views of His Person and Office, He takes advantage of their very difficulties and objections to announce, for all time, those most profound truths which are here expressed, regardless of the disgust of the unteachable, and the prejudices even of the most sincere, which His language would seem only designed to deepen. The truth really conveyed here is no other than that expressed in Joh_6:51, though in more emphatic terms - that He Himself, in the virtue of His sacrificial death, is the spiritual and eternal life of men; and that unless men voluntarily appropriate to themselves this death, in its sacrificial virtue, so as to become the very life and nourishment of their inner man, they have no spiritual and eternal life at all. Not as if His death were the only thing of value, but it is what gives all else in Christ’s Incarnate Person, Life, and Office, their whole value to us sinners.

(1Co 10:4 KJV)  And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
 (Jamieson-Fausset-Brown)  1 Corinthians 10:4
drink — (Exo_17:6). In Num_20:8, “the beasts” also are mentioned as having drunk. The literal water typified “spiritual drink,” and is therefore so called.
spiritual Rock that followed them — rather, “accompanied them.” Not the literal rock (or its water) “followed” them, as Alford explains, as if Paul sanctioned the Jews’ tradition (Rabbi Solomon on Num_20:2) that the rock itself, or at least the stream from it, followed the Israelites from place to place (compare Deu_9:21). But Christ, the “Spiritual Rock” (Psa_78:20, Psa_78:35; Deu_32:4, Deu_32:15, Deu_32:18, Deu_32:30, Deu_32:31, Deu_32:37; Isa_28:16; 1Pe_2:6), accompanied them (Exo_33:15). “Followed” implies His attending on them to minister to them; thus, though mostly going before them, He, when occasion required it, followed behind” (Exo_14:19). He satisfied all alike as to their bodily thirst whenever they needed it; as on three occasions is expressly recorded (Exo_15:24, Exo_15:25; Exo_17:6; Num_20:8); and this drink for the body symbolized the spiritual drink from the Spiritual Rock (compare Joh_4:13, Joh_4:14; see on 1Co_10:3).
