What does the
Bible say about the return of Christ to the clouds calling His Church of
Believers of the Gospel that Paul preaches The Body of Christ?
Rom
4:3 For what saith
the scripture?
One thing for sure
Christ said in His ministry preaching the following…
The Coming
of the Son of Man
That which was to come for The Jew
and the whole world.
Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those
days shall
the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall
fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
Mat 24:30 And then
shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the
tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the
clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great
sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one
end of heaven to the other.
Mat 24:32 Now learn a
parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth
leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
Mat 24:33 So likewise
ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the
doors.
Mat 24:34 Verily I
say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be
fulfilled.
Mat 24:35 Heaven and
earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
Mat 24:36 But of that day and hour
knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. [This is the END of Days period of Time][This is
past the coming of Christ by at least 7 Years, to the clouds with the sound of
an Archangel at the last trump of God, to rapture The Body of Christ His
Believers “The Church His Church”
The Coming
of the Lord
1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be
ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even
as others which have no hope.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died
and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with
him.
1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word
of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain
unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain
shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the
air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with
these words.
The Man of
Lawlessness
2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the
coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our
gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind,
or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as
that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3 Let
no man deceive you by any means: for that day
shall not come, except there come a falling away (DEPARTURE) first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son
of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself
above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth
in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was
yet with you, I told you these things?
2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth
that he might be revealed in his time.
2Th 2:7 For
the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of
the way.
2Th 2:8 And
then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit
of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after
the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
(Vincent's Word Studies) 2
Thessalonians 2:9
After the working of Satan
The sense is that the coming of Antichrist proclaims itself to be
according to the working of Satan by means of power, signs, etc. Ενέργεια Po. power
in exercise,
used only of superhuman power. See Col_1:29;
Col_2:12.
Signs and lying wonders (σημείοις καὶ τέρασιν ψεύδους)
Lit. signs and wonders
of a
lie. Of
a lie
characterizes the three words, power, signs, wonders. All bear the stamp of
fraud. For signs and wonders
see on Mat_24:24, and see on mighty works,
Mat_11:20.
2Th 2:10 And
with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not
the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them
strong delusion, that they should believe
a lie:
2Th 2:12 That
they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure
in unrighteousness. [They won’t consider Paul’s Gospel]
2Th 2:7 through 12 is a message to all that hear the true Goapel of Grace and spurn it or
post pone the acceptance of it when the Spirit of God puts in your heart that
you believe it by believing deep down inside.
Those that reject believing the
Gospel Truth absolutely will miss the rapture God says they will see the
antichrist as the One True Christ by delusion, for He turns you over to Satan.
Just remember postponement as well as ignoring the TRUTH is the same as
rejecting it after it is presented to you {2Th 2:7; 2Th 2:10} denial, ignoring, of the Truth
which is the Gospel of Grace is REJECTION of it.
Php 3:20 For
our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the
Lord Jesus Christ:
Tit 2:11 For
the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying
ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly,
in this present world;
Tit 2:13
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and
our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he
might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people,
zealous of good works.
Striking
Facts: Tit_2:11-13. We have in Tit_2:12, Tit_2:13,
the A B C’s of the school of grace. The Gospel of grace
teaches us (1) to leave the old life (2) to live the new life (3)
to look for that blessed hope, the glorious appearing of
Christ.
Stand Firm
2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks
alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the
beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and
belief of the truth:
2Th 2:14 Whereunto he called you by our
gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Th 2:15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and
hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our
epistle.
2Th 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself,
and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us
everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
2Th 2:17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish
you in every good word and work.
1Co 15:50 Now
this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God;
neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be
changed,
1Co 15:52 In a
moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall
sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be
changed.
1Co 15:53 For
this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on
immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and
this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the
saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
(Php 4:4 KJV) Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice.

alway — even amidst the afflictions
now distressing you (Php_1:28-30).
again — as he had already said,
“Rejoice” (Php_3:1).
Joy is the predominant feature of the Epistle.
I say — Greek, rather, “I will
say.”
Isa
61:10 I will greatly
rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me
with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of
righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself
with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself
with her jewels.

you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Rom
13:12 The night is
far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness,
and let us put on the armour of light. [and let us put on
the armour of light — described at length in Eph_6:11-18.]
The Whole
Armor of God
Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in
the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that
ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the
darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole
armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having
done all, to stand.
Eph 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins
girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace;
Eph 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of
faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation,
and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and
supplication for all saints;
Eph 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be
given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of
the gospel,
Eph 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may
speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
(2Co 5:20 KJV) Now then we are ambassadors for
Christ, as though God did beseech you
by us: we pray you in Christ's stead,
be ye reconciled to God.
(Jamieson-Fausset-Brown) 2
Corinthians 5:20
for Christ ... in Christ’s stead — The Greek of both is the same: translate
in both cases “on Christ’s behalf.”
beseech ... pray —
rather, “entreat [plead with you] ... beseech.” Such “beseeching” is uncommon
in the case of “ambassadors,” who generally stand on their dignity (compare 2Co_10:2; 1Th_2:6,
1Th_2:7).
be ye reconciled to God —
English
Version here
inserts “ye,” which is not in the original, and which
gives the wrong impression, as if it were emphatic thus: God is reconciled to you, be ye
reconciled to God. The Greek
expresses rather, God was the RECONCILER in Christ ... let this reconciliation
then have its designed effect. Be reconciled to
God, that is, let God reconcile you to Himself (2Co_5:18, 2Co_5:19).
(2Co 5:20 KJV) Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you
in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to
God.
“Get reconciled to God,” and do it now. This is the
ambassador’s message as he bears it to men from God.
Eph_6:20. An ambassador represents the monarch from
whom he is sent, in all matters relating to his mission. What the
nature of the mission was, and what the powers of the ambassadors, is stated in
the remaining words of the verse.
as though
God did beseech you by us] See notes
on ch. 2Co_1:3. God may be said rather to exhort or encourage
than to beseech (as if God monestith bi us, Wiclif). This, then,
was the object for which the full powers of the ambassadors were given, an
object still more clearly defined in what follows. Cf. Mal_2:7; Gal_4:14.
we pray you in
Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God] Rather, we intreat on behalf of Christ (sec
above). First there was the encouraging tidings that there was ‘henceforth no condemnation’ to those who accepted
the reconciliation offered through Christ (or perhaps the exhortation to accept
it, see last note), and next the still more urgent entreaty on Christ’s behalf
that they would accept it.

Corinthians 5:20
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ - We are the ambassadors whom
Christ has sent forth to negotiate with people in regard to their
reconciliation to God, Tyndale renders this: “Now
then are we messengers in the room of Christ.” The word used here πρεσβεύομεν presbeuomen, from πρέσβυς presbus an aged man, an elder, and
then an ambassador) means to act as an ambassador, or sometimes merely to
deliver a message for another, without being empowered to do any thing more
than to explain or enforce it - Bloomfield. See Thucydides 7, 9. An ambassador
is a minister of the highest rank, employed by one prince or state at the court
of another, to manage the concerns of his own prince or state, and representing
the dignity and power of his sovereign - Webster. He is sent to do what the
sovereign would himself do were he present. They are sent to make known the
will of the sovereign, and to negotiate matters of commerce, of war, or of
peace, and in general everything affecting the interests of the sovereign among
the people to whom they are sent.
At all times, and in all countries, an ambassador is a sacred
character, and his person is regarded as inviolable. He is bound implicitly to
obey the instructions of his sovereign, and as far as possible to do only what
the sovereign would do were he himself present. Ministers are ambassadors for
Christ, as they are sent to do what he would do were he personally present.
They are to make known, and to explain, and enforce the terms on which God is
willing to be reconciled to people. They are not to negotiate on any new terms,
nor to change those which God has proposed, nor to follow their own plans or
devices, but they are simply to urge, explain, state, and enforce the terms on
which God is willing to be reconciled. Of course they are to seek the honor of
the sovereign who has sent them forth, and to seek to do only his will. They go
not to promote their own welfare; not to seek honor, dignity, or emolument; but
they go to transact the business which the Son of God would engage in were he
again personally on the earth. It follows that their office is one of great
dignity, and great responsibility, and that respect should be showed them as
the ambassadors of the King of kings.
As though God did beseech you by us - Our message is to be regarded
as the message of God. It is God who speaks. What we say to you is said in his
name and on his authority, and should be received with the respect which is due
to a message directly from God. The gospel message is God speaking to people
through the ministry, and entreating them to be reconciled. This invests the
message which the ministers of religion bear with infinite dignity and
solemnity; and it makes it a fearful and awful thing to reject it.
We pray you in Christ’s stead - (ὑπὲρ Χριστοῦ huper Christou). In the place of Christ; or
doing what he did when on earth, and what he would do were he where we are.
Be ye reconciled to God - This is the sum and burden of
the message which the ministers of the gospel bear to their fellow-men; see the
note on 2Co_5:19. It implies that man
has something to do in this work. He is to be reconciled to God. He is to give
up his opposition. He is to submit to the terms of mercy. All the change in the
case is to be in him, for God cannot change. God has removed all the obstacles
to reconciliation which existed on his part. He has done all that he will do,
all that needed to be done, in order to render reconciliation easy as possible.
And now it remains that man should lay aside his hostility, abandon his sins,
embrace the terms of mercy, and become in fact reconciled to God. And the great
object of the ministers of reconciliation is to urge this duty on their
fellow-men. They are to do it in the name of Christ. They are to do it as if
Christ were himself present, and were himself urging the message. They are to
use the arguments which he would use; evince the zeal which he would show; and
present the motives which he would present to induce a dying world to become in
fact reconciled to God.
(2Co 5:21 KJV) For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we
might be made the righteousness of God in him.
(Cambridge Bible) 2
Corinthians 5:21
21. For he hath made him to
be sin for us] Literally, He made, i.e. in the Sacrifice on the
Cross. The word sin has been variously explained
as a sin-offering, a sinner, and so on. But it is best to take the word in its literal
acceptation. He made Him to be sin, i.e. appointed Him to be the
representative of sin and sinners, treated Him as sin and sinners are treated
(cf. 2Co_5:15). He took on Himself to be the representative of Humanity in its aspect
of sinfulness (cf. Rom_8:3; Php_2:7) and to bear the burden of sin in all its
completeness.
Hence He won the right to represent
Humanity in all respects, and hence we are entitled to be regarded as God’s righteousness (which He was)
not in ourselves, but in Him as our representative in all things. See also 2Co_5:14.
who knew no sin] Cf. Heb_4:15; 1Pe_2:22; 1Jn_3:5;
also Joh_8:46.
that we might be made the
righteousness of God in him] We
not only are regarded as God’s righteousness, but become so, by virtue of the inward union effected
between ourselves and Him by His Spirit, through faith. See 2Co_5:17 and note. “He did not say righteous, but
righteousness, and that the righteousness of God.” Chrysostom. See also Bp
Wordsworth’s note. Cf. Rom_1:17; Rom_3:22; Rom_5:19;
Rom_10:3; 1Co_1:30.

Corinthians 5:21
Him who knew no sin (ton mē gnonta hamartian). Definite claim by Paul that Jesus did not commit sin, had
no personal acquaintance (mē gnonta,
second aorist active participle of ginōskō)
with it. Jesus made this claim for himself (Joh_8:46). This statement
occurs also in 1Pe_2:22; Heb_4:15; Heb_7:26; 1Jn_3:5.
Christ was and is “a moral miracle” (Bernard) and so more than mere
man.
He made to be sin (hamartian epoiēsen). The words “to be” are not in the Greek.
“Sin” here is the substantive, not the verb. God “treated as sin” the
one “who knew no sin.” But he knew the contradiction of sinners (Heb_12:3). We may not dare to probe too far into the
mystery of Christ’s suffering on the Cross, but this fact throws
some light on the tragic cry of Jesus just before he died: “My God, My God, why didst thou
forsake me?” (Mat_27:46).
That we might become (hina hēmeis genōmetha). Note “become.” This is God’s purpose (hina) in what he did and in what Christ did. Thus
alone can we obtain God’s righteousness (Rom_1:17).

servant of God who has the earnest of the Spirit to give everlasting grace and
comfort, with a promise of a glorious resurrection body and the eternal

and persecutions of this life, and be constrained by the love of Christ,
manifested in the great instance of His dying for us, to persevere in
testifying as ambassadors of heaven, to lost men.

Striking Facts: 2Co_5:21. Christ was “made sin”—not a sinner, but sin—a sin-offering or sacrifice. As He Who

Jonah
